Christmas Boxception 2014

Christmas has come and gone this year. I’d like to share our experience.

Normally, we would have waited until Christmas day to open and enjoy our presents. However this year, we decided to do things a little differently.  Leading up to Christmas things were a little hectic. I was sick last week, Micah was in a wedding on Saturday, and we decided to go to cookie decorating at his aunt and uncle’s house that lasted all day.  Don’t get me wrong, it was awesome going to the wedding and unexpectedly seeing most of Micah’s family on Sunday; but we needed some “us” time.

On Sunday evening I felt like having our own little Christmas, that way we could enjoy the week together and not worry about trying to find time between visiting his family and mine.  But I quickly dismissed that thought because we’re supposed to wait until Thursday…right? Not five minutes later Micah said, “Why don’t we just open our presents now?”

This ladies and gentleman, is why we’re married.

Micah decided to film me opening up my gifts and has uploaded the video onto this YouTube Channel. Please enjoy the video below and yes, I can explain the high-pitched laughter.

The gifts were as follows:

  • Reese’s Pieces
  • Downy Unstoppables ( one huge unused, and one smaller used bottle)
  • Two awesome lint rollers; lets face it, we have too many animals not to have these in stock.
  • A HUGE cat litter sifter. Not gonna lie, I was a little nervous when I saw this gift 🙂
  • A pack of Twix
  • A beautiful owl necklace
  • Nintendo DS3

If you can’t tell in the video, the big gift at the end is a second wedding band.

I was totally surprised! When we were first looking at wedding bands, we loved the idea of double wedding bands but decided against it for financial reasons. Jewelry is nice, but I’d rather have a place to live with my husband if I have to choose between the two.

But that’s just me.

I keep laughing in the video because each time I got to a new box there was another, even smaller box to open. It was definitely worth the wait and very romantic. I couldn’t be happier with my gifts! I’m so glad we were able to enjoy this wonderful week off together, I think that was the best present of all.

Oh and yes, Peach and Stella were also in the video at the beginning, wearing their Christmas sweaters. Are they cute or what?!

About Me

Welcome to my blog! My name is Kathryn, and my hope is to help you flourish with Jesus.

Over the years I’ve learned that my love for God is not conditional to what He does or doesn’t do for me; that is what it means to flourish with God. I believe in order to truly flourish with Jesus, we must become rooted, established, and immovable in Him in every season.

Here you will find my personal testimonies of God’s goodness and faithfulness in my family’s life. You will also find biblical truths on various topics in the bible.

My heart is geared to help comfort and equip you for what God has called you to do for his kingdom. What God has called you to do, he’s graced you to carry out. This is a safe place for you to learn about Jesus, how to apply God’s word to your life, and ultimately have a deeper understanding and connection with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
