The Power of Our Identity in Christ

This is probably one of my favorite quotes so far from Neil T Anderson’s book, Victory Over The Darkness. A knowledge of who we are in Christ is one of the most important truths to live in every day. Our identity in Jesus shapes the way we live our everyday lives.

I love how Neil Anderson touches on the fact that, as Christians, we are to call ourselves saints rather than sinners; a belief and sentiment my own Pastor shares and teaches on. Neil wrote it beautifully when he said, “Being a saint describes our position in Christ not necessarily our maturity in Christ.”

This is such a good reminder that a new life in Christ results in a new identity. We are to relate to God as saints, not sinners. As Christians stop calling yourself a sinner, and walk in the truth that Christ is alive and living in you. As saints, we aren’t pretending that we’re perfect and never sin; we are simply identifying ourselves as children of the most high God rather than identifying ourselves according to our flesh.

I’m so thankful my mentor is having me read this book. This is bringing fresh revelation on a truth that is easy to become too familiar with as a Christian. No matter how long we’ve walked with Christ living through us, we never outgrow our need for the gospel.

It begs the question, who are you?

About Me

Welcome to my blog! My name is Kathryn, and my hope is to help you flourish with Jesus.

Over the years I’ve learned that my love for God is not conditional to what He does or doesn’t do for me; that is what it means to flourish with God. I believe in order to truly flourish with Jesus, we must become rooted, established, and immovable in Him in every season.

Here you will find my personal testimonies of God’s goodness and faithfulness in my family’s life. You will also find biblical truths on various topics in the bible.

My heart is geared to help comfort and equip you for what God has called you to do for his kingdom. What God has called you to do, he’s graced you to carry out. This is a safe place for you to learn about Jesus, how to apply God’s word to your life, and ultimately have a deeper understanding and connection with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
