A Touch of Flourish Etsy Shop

Today I want to share some thoughts I’ve had about selling handmade items for profit. If you’re not familiar with a website called Etsy, go and check it out when you have a chance. I love that website because you can tell that every seller puts time and effort into what they make and sell. For the past six months or so I’ve been thinking about opening an etsy shop. I have made several handmade items for friends and they really seemed to like them. Recently I’ve had some friends ask me if I would make them some items and I started thinking that others might be interested in my products as well. I really love making these custom handmade items and hope that I can bring a little joy to others.

I’m in the process of creating my etsy shop right now and it may take me a little while before I can officially open it online. It has been a little overwhelming trying to make up shop policies and figuring out shipping costs but it is definitely worth it. I keep thinking oh my gosh, this is scary! What if no one likes my stuff? If that happens, at least I’ll know whether or not it was a good business decision. I think sometimes we are too afraid to take a chance on something new because we are afraid of failing. Most people have at least one moment (if not a thousand) where they are faced with an opportunity to flourish and are scared of the possible outcomes. It’s a natural feeling to be afraid of something that we cannot control and that is exactly where I’m at – I’m having a moment 🙂 .

I’ll keep everyone updated on the progress of my shop and of course, I’ll announce when A Touch of Flourish etsy shop is open. I’m very grateful for my friends and family that have been supportive during this time.
